Njeri Murage joined the OBIS secretariat to support the development of geospatial information.

We welcome Ms Njeri Murage (Kenyan) as a new intern at the OBIS secretariat in Oostende. She support us with the further development of the PostGIS database and GeoServer to store and provide access to spatial information, including area shapes and biodiversity indicators.

Ms Njeri Murage is currently doing her second year of a Master’s programme in GeoInformation Science and Earth Observation, at the University of Twente (The Netherlands).

She is passionate about GIS Technology, Space Science and Earth Observations. She previously worked for ESRI Eastern Africa, she co-founded the Women in GIS Kenya initiative and is active in the consortium for Human Rights Advocacy (SCOHRA) and Amnesty International Kenya.

We are excited to have her in our team. She will be stay until the end of January 2020.
